I quite enjoyed this book and it helped me understand what to expect for my upcoming trip to the UK. It is well organized and easy and fun to read. The author has an enjoyable writing style. Some of the things I learned, I didn't know that I needed to know -- if that makes sense. For example, she explains how houses/buildings work in England and that the first level of a house for example, is the ground floor and the next level is referred to as the first level. This totally helped me better understand the airbnb that I have reserved which is described as a first floor apartment with a short walk up? Before reading this book I couldn't understand why I would have to walk up stairs to a "first floor." This is just one example of the wealth of tips available. My only complaint is that I also purchased the author's online course about London travel and I really didn't benefit from both the book and the course - one would have been sufficient as things repeat in both. As someone who moved from the US to London this year, I can't recommend this book enough. Kalyn really thought of EVERYTHING you could possibly need to know about in your transition and put it all in one place, better than any government resource could. She mixed personal experiences with valuable information to create a relatable guide that covers most if not all of the questions you could possibly have, as well as those you would've never thought of on your own. I stumbled upon Kalyn's blog right before my move, which led me to her Ultimate UK Guide Facebook group, and then to this book. I can't recommend all of these platforms enough. Whether you're considering an extended stay or gearing up for your move, this is the one-stop-shop to everything you need to know to have the best possible experience in London!
